Once the user have chatted add a option on top right to export to pdf it will be soo useful tbh thanks :)
I’m a big fan of NotebookLM’s grounded AI capabilities (Audio Overviews, interactive chat, study guides, mind maps, FAQs, etc.) and the growing integration with Gemini. These tools turn documents into dynamic, citable knowledge experiences. The Gap: Users who legitimately purchase ebooks or audiobooks through Google Books / Google Play Books currently have no seamless way to bring that full content into NotebookLM or Gemini. Manual workarounds (downloading, converting, or uploading excerpts) are cumbersome for full-length works, often limited by format/DRM, and don’t deliver the full power of NotebookLM’s features. EPUB support and textbook source options are welcome steps, but they don’t solve the core friction for everyday purchased books. Proposed Solution: Create a native, opt-in integration so that books and audiobooks purchased with a user’s Google account automatically appear as available sources in NotebookLM and Gemini. Purchased titles show up in the user’s source library (similar to how Drive files or uploaded EPUBs work today). Full NotebookLM/Gemini features become available: interactive chat with inline citations, Audio/Video Overviews, study guides, character/timeline maps, flashcards, deep research, etc. Critical protection layer: Access is strictly tied to the purchaser’s account and verified license. All AI processing happens server-side within Google’s licensed ecosystem. Users cannot export the full raw book text or share the complete source publicly. This respects publisher rights while giving verified buyers a dramatically better experience. Extend support to audiobooks where possible (e.g., discussion prompts or grounded summaries from the narration). This builds directly on existing strengths: recent NotebookLM–Gemini notebook syncing, EPUB upload support, source discovery, and any emerging textbook/Play Books connections. Why This Would Be a Win for Everyone For Users Transforms passive book ownership into an active, personalized AI companion. Perfect for deep non-fiction research, fiction analysis, learning new skills, education, or creative inspiration. No more clunky extraction steps — just open your purchased library and start exploring with NotebookLM’s best tools. For Google Increases the perceived value of Google Books purchases and Google AI subscriptions (Ultra/Pro/Plus). Drives more digital book sales on your platform versus competitors. Strengthens ecosystem stickiness: buy the book → unlock powerful AI features → stay in Google tools. Positions Google as the leader in thoughtful, licensed AI-augmented reading. For Publishers & Authors Full protection — only verified purchasers get the enhanced AI experience. No new piracy vector. The feature could actually increase legitimate sales by making digital books more valuable and discoverable. Google already manages the licensing and hosting, so this is a natural internal extension. For Broader Impact This turns every purchased book into a personal tutor, research assistant, or creative spark. Students, professionals, lifelong learners, and creators would all benefit. It’s a logical next step in Google’s AI + content ecosystem and would generate significant goodwill and usage. I’d love to see this prioritized. It feels like a natural evolution that respects copyright while delivering the kind of delightful, grounded AI experience NotebookLM and Gemini are known for. Happy to provide more details, user stories, or test early versions. Thank you for building tools that genuinely help people think and create better. @martinpryceartist
